Motivation

There were a few reasons why I, a social media recluse, actually wanted to blog about my home building experience. One of those reasons was simply because I thought it would be a cool experience to keep track of our homes progress, from brick one til move-in. Another reason though, was because I saw some of the other blogs talking about building with Ryan Homes (not nearly enough Avalon ones!) and quite honestly, I found them helpful.

I do believe that knowledge is power (and no, not in the cynical Frank Underwood sort of way--though that's true too). I tend to think that the more we know about a process, including a persons thought process, the better we can understand and improve and avoid pitfalls or remove fears, etc.,

Never have truer words been spoken my man

So after cyber stalking fellow Ryan Homes builders over the past few whirlwind weeks, here we are! So while it's helpful and insightful to see pictures of dirt. Tile colors. Cabinet choices. And wooden frames going up (all of which promise to follow in tradition and include). I found myself most interested in other folks experience with their sales rep. How easy or nerve-wracking the loan process, typically with NVR Mortgage, turned out to be, I loved reading the tips and tricks of what to ask for, add, and in some cases avoid. Those were some of the standout things that I learned the most from and will try to pay it forward (yes, I must subconsciously love Kevin Spacey) by sharing my own lessons learned.

I will try to link to, give credit to, and follow as many other relevant bloggers as possible. I'm new to all of this, so I'm sure I'll miss some protocol or something or another along the way. So apologies in advance! So without any further adue, on to the next post!
